I longed for a life of purpose and possibility but felt trapped by same-sex attractions.

Hi, my name is Jason Mellard.
For many years, I questioned my identity and worth. I suppressed my attractions, denied them, and prayed them away.
But in the end, I felt more separate from the men I admired and the identity I desired. I felt powerless, lost, and alone.
Something had to give.
Then one day, God brought someone into my life who helped me view my unwanted attractions as an opportunity instead of an obstacle.
I gained autonomy from my sensations and feelings by practicing mindfulness, received healing from trauma in a supportive setting, and stepped into the compelling future Christ created for me.
I chose to embrace my identity in Christ, which became the cornerstone of my transformation.

Now, I no longer obsess over my attractions.
I embrace vulnerability as an equal with other men and take courageous action in line with my purpose.
And I get to empower others do the same!
That’s the mission of Own Your Identity:
